So I asked five top AI models to recreate a website from one single screenshot. The challenge was super clear: you give each AI exactly the same screenshot- no URL, no source code, no Figma files, and no CSS and tell them to recreate this website as accurately as possible.
Today, I took the Louis Vuitton website as a reference. We are just taking inspiration, not trying to steal or copy the design. This is purely an experiment to see how capable these LLMs really are at handling a minimal, beautiful design, and to find out which AI does the best work of cloning a website from a screenshot.

2. Qwen 3.8 Max (Qwen Studio): The Clear Winner
This AI website builder stands out for its design capabilities.
Next up was Qwen 3.8 Max using Qwen Studio.
In the first attempt, it just used a random template and didn’t look like the reference. But when I asked it to improve it and recreate the exact same website, the second version looked very, very similar.
Features Qwen 3.8 Max Nailed:
- Menu buttons and search are all fully working
- Recreated dummy images taking direct inspiration from the product grid
- Smart video section handling
- Desktop view matches the typography and section layout
It didn’t copy the images directly; it recreated similar graphical versions. The only minor issue was that the typography wasn’t 100% exact, but otherwise, everything looked really, really nice.
ChatGPT / GPT-5.6 Soul is a reliable AI website builder for serious projects.
My Verdict: For the time it took and the results it produced, I am really satisfied with Qwen 3.8 Max ****.
3. Gemini 3.6 Flash: Great for Design, But Templated
I’ve already mentioned on the channel that Gemini 3.6 Flash is a really bad model for coding, but for designing and taking inspiration, this model actually looks really nice.
It tried to recreate the hero section really well, font selections looked good, and it pulled its own images (probably using Google’s vast library or Nano Banana).
One very important thing I liked: when you click “Quick Add” or “Add to Wishlist,” it actually works and moves items to the bag/wishlist. It added subtle touches like that without making the images look super cartoonic like Qwen did.
However, knowing how Gemini works, there is a lot of templating going on under the hood. It didn’t follow the exact header, and it forgot to add detailed titles in the bottom section.
Claude Opus 5, while token-heavy, is a notable AI website builder option.
My Verdict: While Google Cloud services make it super easy to deploy and put online, I still wouldn’t use Gemini 3.6 Flash for coding custom sites. It’s a bit of a pain and a lot of bugs can happen.
4. ChatGPT / GPT-5.6 Soul (Codex): The Professional Daily Driver
Then we tested ChatGPT / GPT-5.6 Soul using Codex.
It did a great job copying the layout and directly extracting the images from the screenshot. The font choices and essential sections were accurate, and it didn’t miss details like prices or hovered states.
We had a bit of a disaster initially with the Codex build: in the first version, the menus were blurry, and when you opened the menu or search bar, you couldn’t close them.
Prompt: "Fix the navigation menu and search modal so they close properly when clicked."
Result: Fixed completely in just one prompt!
My Verdict: GPT-5.6 Soul with Codex is my second choice, but in my everyday professional work, almost all the work I do is done by GPT-5.6 Soul. It’s super reliable and not as expensive as Opus 5.
5. Claude Opus 5: Great Visual Taste, Token Heavy
Finally, we tested Claude Opus 5 using Claude Design. If you watch my channel, you know I already did a video on Claude Opus 5 and wasn’t a huge fan due to token issues and limits.

However, for single-prompt design recreation, it did a very good job:
- Recreated header menus (open/close worked seamlessly).
- Smartly recognized video containers and added placeholder video thumbnails.
- Correctly changed product categories (e.g., swapping men’s bags to women’s bags accurately).
- Built a great footer layout.
The problem? When I asked Claude Design multiple times to add real sample images, it couldn’t do it and eventually asked me to send the photos to place them.
My Verdict: High-quality output, but because it’s so expensive and token-hungry, it sits in third place for me .
